Maintenance Technician II

Summary
This position involves physically operating and maintaining the buildings, equipment, and grounds to provide an optimal environment for sharing the gospel. A Maintenance Technician II will focus on two to three areas such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, or equipment repair.

Essential Duties
Supervision
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff.
  • Supervise staff assigned by the site and facilities superintendent, including summer and winter staff, volunteers, and work crews.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, promoting maximum service and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with the work crew and summer staff to foster personal growth.
Records and Budget
  • Maintain operational records as required.
Operation and Maintenance
  • Possess basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain and operate specific equipment or areas as designated.
  • Operate and maintain property according to instructions from supervisors.
Goals and Relationships
  • Work towards yearly camping goals.
  • Collaborate with the site and facilities superintendent, guest services, and other staff.
  • Engage positively with the local community, representing Young Life professionally.
Working Conditions
  • Stand or walk most of the day.
  • Adapt to indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Perform projects overhead, bending, kneeling, crawling, digging, shoveling, and raking.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to obtain certifications.
  • Experience in supervising people and tasks, knowledge of plant systems, construction trades, and a positive attitude.

All staff must demonstrate Christ-like hospitality, respond promptly to guest needs, and work effectively with volunteers and young people. The camp is located in the Adirondacks, emphasizing unity, caring, and leadership in ministry.
