Job summary

Whitehall Resources Ltd is seeking an SAP Yard Logistics & EWM Functional SME to support the DoD JTMS project in the US. The role focuses on delivering SAP S/4HANA logistics solutions, integrating yard operations, warehouse execution and transportation processes within an Agile delivery environment.

Responsibilities include designing warehouse and yard processes, validating requirements, and coordinating with SD/MM teams to ensure seamless EWM/TM integration and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of SAP functional experience focusing on EWM and Yard Logistics.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA integration of EWM/Yard Logistics with SAP TM.
• Strong understanding of warehouse execution, yard operations, and end-to-end logistics processes.
• Experience gathering requirements, producing functional specs, and supporting testing and deployment.
• Previous experience in an Agile delivery environment.

• Provide functional expertise across SAP S/4HANA EWM and Yard Logistics (YL).
• Design and optimise warehouse and yard processes, including goods movements, inventory, vehicle check-in/out, dock assignments, staging and shipping.
• Support integration between EWM, Yard Logistics and SAP TM, collaborating with SD and MM teams.
• Translate business requirements into functional designs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and recommend scalable SAP solutions.
• Support sprint planning, functional testing, SIT/UAT, deployment and post-go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot complex functional and integration issues, maintaining data accuracy and improving operational efficiency.

SAP Yard Logistics & EWM Functional SME

Programme: US Department of Defense (DoD)

The Opportunity

Whitehall Resources is supporting a US Department of Defense (DoD) programme and is seeking an experienced SAP Yard Logistics and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Functional SME to support the Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS).

You will play a key role in designing and delivering SAP S/4HANA logistics solutions, integrating yard operations, warehouse execution and transportation processes within an Agile delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional expertise across SAP S/4HANA EWM and Yard Logistics (YL).

• Design and optimise warehouse and yard processes, including goods movements, inventory, vehicle check-in/out, dock assignments, staging and shipping.

• Support integration between EWM, Yard Logistics and SAP Transportation Management (TM), working alongside SD and MM teams.

Essential Requirements

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.

• 7-10+ years of SAP functional experience, with strong hands‑on expertise in SAP EWM and Yard Logistics.

• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and integrating EWM/Yard Logistics with SAP TM.

• Strong understanding of warehouse execution, yard operations and end-to-end logistics processes.

• Experience gathering requirements, producing functional specifications and supporting testing and deployment.

• Previous experience working in an Agile delivery environment.

• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

• SAP certification in EWM, Yard Logistics or Transportation Management.

• Previous DoD, US government or military logistics programme experience.

• Experience with SAP Fiori, APIs, IDocs, middleware, data migration or warehouse automation.

• Experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations or upgrades.
