GlobalSource IT, Inc. is seeking a hands-on SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect to lead a 2021–2025 upgrade. You will evaluate upgrade impacts, assess technical and functional requirements, and coordinate across SAP teams to resolve issues for a smooth upgrade.

The contract runs 12–18+ months with primarily remote work and limited travel to Michigan, requiring strong techno-functional SAP expertise and experience with end-to-end processes like OTC, PTM and RTR.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting an SAP S/4HANA upgrade, ideally an S/4HANA-to-S/4HANA upgrade.
• Strong techno-functional SAP experience, with the ability to assess system impacts and upgrade activities.
• Experience with SAP Upgrade Readiness Checks, Simplification Items, and upgrade impact analysis.
• End-to-end integration experience across SAP business processes such as OTC, PTM, RTR.
• Understanding of SAP architecture, integrations, custom code remediation, testing, and upgrade dependencies.
• Ability to work directly with technical and functional teams to troubleshoot issues, evaluate options, and drive solutions.

SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect – Upgrade

Our client is starting an SAP S/4HANA upgrade from 2021 to 2025 and is looking for a hands‑on SAP Solution Architect with strong techno‑functional experience. This role will focus on evaluating upgrade impacts, assessing technical and functional requirements, and working across SAP teams to address issues and ensure a successful upgrade.

• Review and act on SAP Upgrade Readiness Checks, Simplification Items, and related upgrade assessments.
• Evaluate the impact of the S/4HANA 2021-to-2025 upgrade on configurations, custom code, integrations, and business processes.
• Work hands‑on with technical and functional teams to analyze issues, determine remediation requirements, and develop solutions.
• Support upgrade planning, testing, defect resolution, cutover, go‑live, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
• Coordinate across SAP functional, technical, integration, and business teams to resolve dependencies and ensure end-to‑end process continuity.
• Provide technical and functional guidance, document solution decisions, and help drive upgrade readiness and execution.

Requirements:

• Hands‑on experience supporting an SAP S/4HANA upgrade, ideally an S/4HANA-to-S/4HANA upgrade rather than an ECC-to-S/4HANA conversion.
• Strong techno‑functional SAP experience, with the ability to assess system impacts and work through technical and functional upgrade activities.
• Experience with SAP Upgrade Readiness Checks, Simplification Items, and upgrade impact analysis.
• End‑to‑end integration experience across SAP business processes such as OTC, PTM, RTR, or similar functional areas.
• Understanding of SAP architecture, integrations, custom code remediation, testing, and upgrade dependencies.
• Ability to work directly with technical and functional teams to troubleshoot issues, evaluate options, and drive solutions.
• Experience with SAP program governance, project planning, or PMO activities is beneficial, but hands‑on system experience is the priority.
