Job summary

VETS, Inc. seeks an seasoned SAP Transportation Management (TM) Event Management SME to support a large JTMS implementation for DoD. The role focuses on design, configuration, integration, testing, and adoption of event management capabilities providing end-to-end visibility into logistics movements and milestones.

The position requires active US Secret clearance. Opportunity is remote with travel and collaboration across government stakeholders, and a strong background in SAP TM event

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of SAP/logistics/transportation management or enterprise systems experience, with 5+ years in SAP TM or event management.
• Hands-on experience with SAP TM implementations and event management capabilities in DoD or federal environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the functional authority for SAP TM Event Management, advising on event capture, milestone tracking, exceptions, alerts, and visibility.
• Translate requirements into functional specs and designs aligned with SAP S/4HANA, SAP TM, and integration architecture.
• Guide design and configuration decisions across event management areas like milestones, status tracking, and dashboards.
• Ensure alignment with integration points across SAP modules and related systems (TM, EWM, MM, SD, GTS).
• Provide recommendations on process standardization, data quality, governance, and change impacts.
• Lead translation of visibility needs into structured requirements, user stories, and design artifacts.
• Validate that configured solutions meet business requirements, scenarios, and reporting needs.
• Support deployment planning, data readiness, cutover activities, and user readiness.
