Responsible for overseeing all SAP transactions related to spare parts purchasing, inventory management, and inbound/outbound operations. This role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of SAP processes while leading a team of two or three. The Lead will also act as the primary liaison between the warehouse, logistics, HQ SAP support, and other internal departments to resolve system issues, track inventory, and optimize spare parts operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Process Oversight
- Lead and mentor a team, ensuring accurate execution of SAP transactions.
- Assign and manage team workload, prioritizing purchasing, inbound/outbound transactions, and inventory adjustments.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to track performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvements.
- Train and support team members in SAP best practices and system troubleshooting.
- Spare Parts Purchasing & SAP Transactions
- Oversee all spare parts purchasing—including local sourcing in SAP—to ensure timely and accurate order placement.
- Approve purchase orders (POs) before submission and track fulfillment.
- Communicate unknown part number requests with HQ to ensure proper entry in SAP.
- Inbound & Outbound Inventory Management
- Supervise daily inbound and outbound spare parts transactions in SAP, including full units, batteries, and strings.
- Ensure all warehouse transactions align with system records and resolve any discrepancies with warehouse staff.
- Work with logistics teams to ensure proper documentation and tracking of spare parts movements.
- Perform monthly inventory variance analysis between SAP and Cargowise, leading adjustments as needed.
- Ensure accurate stock levels by conducting periodic cycle counts and reconciling differences.
- Investigate root causes of inventory mismatches and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy.
- Serve as the primary contact for SAP system issues, working with HQ SAP support to troubleshoot problems.
- Lead process improvements to enhance SAP functionality for spare parts operations.
- Document and report recurring SAP issues and propose solutions to prevent future disruptions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience: 3+ years in SAP inventory management, purchasing, or supply chain operations, with leadership experience preferred.
- Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) module or equivalent ERP systems.
- Experience with Cargowise or similar inventory tracking systems is a plus.
- Ability to analyze inventory variances and recommend adjustments.
- Proven experience leading a team in a fast‑paced supply chain environment.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to resolve SAP and inventory issues.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities to work across multiple departments.
- Ability to train and mentor team members on SAP best practices.
