About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SAP Scrum Master / Project Lead to support a large-scale, multi-year SAP transformation program. This individual will lead two SAP-focused Scrum teams within a Supply Chain workstream and partner closely with program leadership, functional teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and system implementation partners.

The program operates in a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment, utilizing two-week sprints, daily Scrum ceremonies, quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning, and structured project-management processes.

This is an initial 9+ month contract with anticipated 12-month extensions. The broader transformation has approximately four additional years of planned work, creating the potential for a long-term engagement across multiple releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Scrum Master / Project Lead for two SAP-focused Scrum teams within a larger enterprise transformation.
• Lead daily standups and facilitate Scrum ceremonies for teams that may include approximately 15–20 participants.
• Facilitate sprint planning, sprint reviews, backlog management, and other Agile/Scrum activities.
• Manage two-week sprint cycles and ensure work remains aligned with project priorities, timelines, and dependencies.
• Identify and help remove blockers impacting team delivery.
• Manage and track sprint activities, stories, iterations, and backlogs using Jira or a comparable Agile project-management platform.
• Serve as a testing coordinator/champion, helping organize testing activities and defect management during the SAP implementation.
• Coordinate with functional teams during System Integration Testing (SIT) and other testing phases.
• Collaborate across multiple workstreams to understand timelines, dependencies, risks, and potential impacts.
• Partner with business stakeholders, program leadership, and system implementation partners to drive project delivery.
• Raise risks and concerns appropriately and help facilitate solutions across teams.
• Participate in quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning and support planning across upcoming releases.
• Adapt to changing priorities as the transformation progresses through multiple implementation phases.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience working within SAP environments, including SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience supporting functional SAP teams and business-facing SAP initiatives.
• Experience as a Scrum Master, Project Lead, Project Manager, or similar delivery-focused role.
• Hands‑on experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, standups, reviews, and backlog management.
• Experience using Jira or another Scrum/Agile project-management tool to manage sprints, iterations, stories, and backlogs.
• Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams and managing dependencies across multiple stakeholders or workstreams.
• Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid environment incorporating both Agile and traditional project‑management practices.
• Ability to work onsite in Oakland, CA Tuesday through Thursday.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP S/4HANA transformation or implementation experience.
• Experience supporting SAP Supply Chain teams or related functional workstreams.
• Experience participating in Program Increment (PI) Planning.
• Experience coordinating SAP testing activities, including System Integration Testing (SIT).
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or comparable testing/defect‑management tools.
• Experience working with large system integrators or implementation partners.
• Experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise SAP transformation programs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced Scrum Master or Project Lead who understands both SAP functional environments and Agile delivery. The SAP transformation is currently progressing through its first release, including build, testing, and System Integration Testing activities. Additional releases are planned, with approximately four more years of transformation work anticipated.
