Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Senior SAP PP/QM Consultant to lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementations for Production Planning, Manufacturing Execution, and Quality Management. You will design, configure, test, migrate data, and manage cutover with a focus on Fit-to-Standard and best practices.

You will work with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams across industries, ensuring high quality delivery and effective post-go-live support.

Your role and responsibilities

The Senior SAP PP/QM Consultant will be responsible for leading the design, configuration, implementation, testing, data migration, cutover, and post-go-live support of SAP Production Planning (PP), Manufacturing Execution, and Quality Management (QM) solutions within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

This role requires strong functional and hands‑on configuration expertise, a deep understanding of manufacturing business processes, and the ability to translate client requirements into scalable solutions aligned with SAP Best Practices and the Fit-to-Standard approach.

The consultant will take ownership of end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring that SAP manufacturing and quality management processes are effectively integrated with other functional areas, meet client business objectives, and are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work across multiple industries, collaborating closely with client stakeholders, solution architects, and cross‑functional project teams throughout the SAP implementation lifecycle, following the SAP Activate methodology.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Design and Implement Solutions: Design and implement SAP S/4HANA PP solutions to meet clients' business requirements, working closely with them to understand their needs and optimize production planning operations.
• Configure SAP S/4HANA PP Tools: Configure SAP S/4HANA PP tools to deliver tailored solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs for clients.
• Collaborate with Clients: Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements, design solutions, and implement them using SAP S/4HANA PP tools.
• Deliver Solution Expertise: Leverage your expertise in SAP S/4HANA PP to deliver high-quality solutions that meet clients' needs and drive business value.

Required technical and professional expertise

'- End-to-End Implementation: Lead the design, configuration, implementation, testing, data migration, cutover, and post-go-live support of SAP Production Planning (PP), Manufacturing Execution, and Quality Management (QM) solutions in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.

• SAP Best Practices and Fit-to-Standard: Apply SAP Best Practices and follow the SAP Activate methodology, emphasizing the Fit-to-Standard approach and minimizing unnecessary customizations and extensions.
• Business Process Analysis and Solution Design: Analyze clients' manufacturing, production planning, execution, and quality management processes. Translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Hands‑On System Configuration: Independently configure and validate SAP PP/QM functionality within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, including production planning, MRP, BOMs, routings, work centers, production orders, capacity planning, and quality management processes.
• Cross-Functional Integration: Ensure seamless integration of SAP PP/QM processes with other functional areas, including Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), and Finance/Controlling (FI/CO).
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute functional and integration test scenarios, support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshoot issues, and ensure solutions meet business and functional requirements.
• Data Migration and Cutover: Guide manufacturing and quality‑related master data migration, including data validation and reconciliation. Plan and execute SAP PP/QM cutover activities to ensure successful system deployment.
• Client Collaboration and Advisory: Work closely with client business stakeholders, IT teams, and project leadership to provide expert functional guidance, resolve design challenges, and drive timely decisions.
• Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Prepare and maintain functional design documents, configuration documentation, business process flows, test scripts, and training materials. Conduct knowledge transfer and support end‑user training.
• Post-Go-Live Support: Provide hypercare and production support, resolve functional issues, and recommend process improvements to optimize SAP manufacturing and quality management operations.
• Project Delivery Accountability: Take ownership of assigned PP/QM deliverables, proactively identify and elevate risks, coordinate dependencies with other workstreams, and ensure high-quality, on‑time delivery in accordance with project plans and commitments.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Advanced SAP S/4HANA Knowledge: Experience with advanced SAP S/4HANA features and functionality, enabling the design and implementation of complex Production Planning solutions.
• Industry-Specific Expertise: Experience in a specific industry, such as manufacturing or logistics, with knowledge of industry-specific production planning challenges and best practices.
• SAP S/4HANA Integration: Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA PP with other SAP modules or third‑party systems to deliver comprehensive solutions.
