Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced SAP Administrator to manage SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA environments across development, test, and production. The role involves upgrades, monitoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support a large federal government program.

We require U.S. citizenship, a security clearance, and a 7+ year track record in SAP implementation/support, including Basis administration. Strong communication and Agile delivery experience are essential.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, IS, Math, or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of SAP implementation and post-production support experience.
At least 4 years of SAP Basis administration experience, preferably S/4HANA.
Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, system administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Experience administering and monitoring SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems.
Experience with SAP system upgrades, patching, and enhancement packages.
Experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Focused Build.
Ability to analyze technical problems and provide actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems across environments.
Support design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing management of SAP environments and related components.
Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and service levels; identify issues and fixes.
Plan and execute SAP upgrades, kernel updates, patches, support packages, and maintenance.
Perform system refreshes, client copies, transport administration, and job scheduling.
Troubleshoot SAP applications, databases, and infrastructure; conduct root cause analysis.
Use SAP Solution Manager and SAP Focused Build for monitoring and lifecycle management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on end-to-end system operations.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and administration standards.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and communicate status to stakeholders.
Support a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation for a large federal government program.

Job description

Administer, monitor, and maintain SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems across development, testing, and production environments
Support technical design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and ongoing management of SAP environments and related application components
Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, background processing, interfaces, and technical service levels; identify issues and implement corrective actions
Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, kernel updates, patches, support packages, enhancement packages, and other maintenance activities
Perform system refreshes, client copies, transport administration, job scheduling, and routine Basis operations
Troubleshoot complex SAP application, database, and infrastructure issues; conduct root cause analysis and recommend sustainable solutions
Use SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Focused Build for monitoring, change control, testing, and application lifecycle management
Collaborate with functional, development, security, database, infrastructure, and integration teams on end-to-end system operations
Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, configuration records, and system administration standards
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and communicate technical status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Support a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation for a large federal government program

Requirements

U.S. citizenship required due to client requirements
Successful completion of a background check and security clearance is required before beginning work
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, or another related technical discipline
Minimum of 7 years of SAP implementation and post-production support experience
At least 4 years of SAP Basis administration experience, preferably supporting SAP S/4HANA environments
Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, system administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Experience administering and monitoring SAP S/4HANA and BW/4HANA systems
Experience with SAP system upgrades, patching, support packages, and enhancement packages
Experience with SAP Solution Manager and/or SAP Focused Build
Ability to analyze technical problems and provide clear, actionable recommendations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical strategies and information to technical and non-technical audiences
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
SAP Basis certification or another related SAP certification preferred
Hands-on SAP HANA administration experience preferred
Experience supporting a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation preferred
Experience working as part of an Agile delivery team preferred
Federal government or public sector SAP implementation experience preferred
Recent hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Focused Build, SAP transport management, system monitoring, performance tuning, system refreshes and client copies, kernel and support package maintenance, backup and recovery coordination, and SAP application lifecycle management
