SAP S/4 O2C Data Migration Expert (SAP Retail/Fashion Experience Required)

Job Description:

As the SAP S/4 O2C (Operations and Commerce) Data Migration Expert, you will oversee and manage the data migration process from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. You will ensure that cross-workstream activities (P2P, R2R) are accurately captured and integrated, providing a holistic view of how all components fit into the new SAP S/4HANA system in collaboration with the L’Oreal Global Team and the Global Data Migration Playbook. This role requires working on-site in Clark, NJ 3 days a week. All meetings are camera-on.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive data migration strategy based on the Global Data Migration Playbook.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, Global Data Team, Application PMs, and external partners (Syniti) to gather requirements and define data mapping rules.
  3. Utilize STTM (Source to target mapping) templates, align open points, and follow up on discussions in SNOW.
  4. Design data migration scripts, programs, and tools for extracting, transforming, and loading data into SAP S/4HANA.
  5. Use extraction tools and loading scripts, including Excel and WinShuttle.
  6. Perform data profiling, cleansing, validation, and establish governance rules for data activities.
  7. Conduct migration testing and validation with the Global Team and Business Owners.
  8. Contribute to improving the data migration playbook, tools, and best practices.
  9. Coordinate with the Cutover Lead to ensure smooth data migration execution.
  10. Support testing, defect management, and hyper-care activities post-migration.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  2. 10+ years of experience in data migration, especially in SAP environments.
  3. Deep knowledge of SAP data migration tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  4. Understanding of SAP S/4HANA data structures and migration processes.
  5. Familiarity with MDM (TIBCO EBX), LSMW, SAP Data Services, Power BI/Looker, APIs, and ETL tools.
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English; French is a plus.
  7. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  8. SAP data migration certification is desirable.
  9. Willingness to travel to client sites (at least 3 days/week) and possibly to Paris; valid Passport and Visa required.
  10. Advanced Excel skills, experience managing large data sets in SAP, ECC & S/4HANA knowledge, and SD module expertise.
  11. Experience with Business Partner Master Data, Customer Hierarchies, and related data migration tasks.
  12. Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and mentor teams.
