Job description

Position Summary

The SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Solution Architect serves as the senior solution authority responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Plant Maintenance solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment. This role translates complex maintenance, asset management, and operational requirements into scalable, best-practice solutions that support business objectives and long-term operational success. The Architect leads blueprint and solution design workshops, defines solution scope and architectural standards, guides functional delivery teams, and serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, and SAP functional and technical resources to ensure the successful delivery of integrated asset management and maintenance capabilities across the enterprise.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end SAP PM/EAM solution architecture across maintenance operations, asset lifecycle management, work management, preventive and corrective maintenance, and enterprise asset management processes.
  • Design and govern enterprise asset structures including functional locations, equipment master data, classification frameworks, maintenance BOMs, and asset hierarchies.
  • Define maintenance planning and execution strategies, including notifications, work orders, task lists, maintenance plans, status management, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and condition-based maintenance approaches.
  • Establish integration architecture between SAP PM and related SAP solutions, including MM, FI/CO, QM, procurement, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Lead blueprint workshops, solution design sessions, architecture reviews, and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Evaluate existing maintenance processes and supporting technologies; develop recommendations, roadmaps, and solution strategies to improve operational efficiency and asset performance.
  • Define security, authorization, and role-based access strategies supporting maintenance planners, technicians, supervisors, and operational leadership.
  • Provide architectural governance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with SAP best practices, scalability, maintainability, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support integrations, reporting, data migration, enhancements, and custom development activities.
  • Mentor consultants and project team members while providing guidance on solution design decisions and implementation best practices.
  • Support business development efforts, solution estimates, statements of work, and technical proposal development as a subject matter expert.
  • Adhere to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, including active participation in quality assurance activities and the protection of sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) / Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) implementation experience.
  • 2+ full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations with responsibility for solution architecture, enterprise design, or lead architecture functions.
  • Deep expertise in SAP PM configuration and architecture, including functional locations, equipment master data, maintenance BOMs, task lists, maintenance strategies, maintenance plans, notifications, and work order management.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP PM integration with MM, FI/CO, QM, procurement, and inventory management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, facilitate design sessions, and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, defense contractor, aerospace, logistics, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive organizations.
  • Experience evaluating, modernizing, integrating, or replacing legacy CMMS/EAM platforms such as Maximo, Infor EAM, TC-Max, or similar asset management solutions.
  • SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Asset Management or related SAP certification.
  • Experience with SAP Fiori applications supporting mobile maintenance execution and asset management processes.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance, condition-based maintenance, and enterprise asset management best practices.
  • Prior consulting or systems integration experience with responsibility for solution architecture, client advisory services, statement of work development, and delivery governance.

Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $140,000– $210,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
