Amtex Enterprises Inc. is seeking a SAP IS-U / CIS Solution Architect for a multi-year CIS modernization initiative. The role focuses on end-to-end solution architecture across SAP IS-U, SAP S/4HANA Utilities and Salesforce Energy and Utilities Cloud within a hybrid delivery model.

The contractor will guide architecture governance, drive standardization, and ensure secure, scalable integrations across on-premise and cloud landscapes, with strong emphasis on Clean Core principles.

Role Overview

Customer is undertaking a major CIS modernization initiative, transitioning from a 25-year-old legacy billing system to SAP S/4 HANA for Utilities (IS-U) and Salesforce Energy and Utilities Cloud for our Call Center and CRM capabilities. This is a multi-year (4-5), high-visibility program. The CIS Solution Architect will design and govern end-to-end solutions across SAP, SF, and other Energy enterprise systems, ensuring alignment with Energy Architecture Tenets and SAP Clean Core principles. The role expects a solid architecture background and methodology including multiple experiences solutioning across complex hybrid cloud and on-premise landscapes and the application of strong architectural principles. Experience with SAP S/4 functionality and technologies, integration via SAP BTP, SAP Data platforms (BDC), Salesforce, and AWS are preferred.

Project Context

• CIS Modernization Program – multi-year, multi-million-dollar initiative
• Transition from legacy customer information system to SAP S/4 HANA Utilities and Salesforce Energy and Utilities Cloud
• Expected duration: 5 years; initial engagement as contractor with potential for conversion
• Work as part of the Energy Architecture team on the CIS effort.
• Blueprinting, solution architecture, governance, and implementation validation

Work Model & Location

• Hybrid: Onsite Tuesday–Thursday; remote other days
• Preferred locations: Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO
• Some travel required (quarterly)
• Core hours: 9 AM – 4 PM CST; 40-hour work week

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end-to-end solution architecture for key financial, payment and collections end to end business processes across enterprise systems including SAP S/4, Salesforce and supporting systems
• Minimize customizations and enforce Clean Core principles
• Identify new technology capabilities or patterns that might be required and align with architecture tenets and guidelines
• Govern standards and best practices, minimizing customization
• Lead design and implementation ensuring development aligns with proposed architecture
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams
• Ensure resiliency, scalability, security, and performance
• Conduct architecture reviews and present at architecture review boards
• Validate implementation against design

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years Architecture experience
• 2+ years SAP S/4 HANA Utilities (IS-U)
• 2+ years SAP BTP and Integration Suite
• 4+ years AWS experience
• Expertise in enterprise level solution architecture across multiple systems including hybrid scenarios
• Strong architectural governance experience and solutioning skills

Technical Skills

• Integration and Data architecture skills (SAP BTP, AWS, IBM ACE preferred)
• Cloud / Hybrid Architecture solutioning (AWS preferred)
• Solutioning end to end architecture across complex ecosystems.
• Architecture solutioning including drafting options and providing a recommendation
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, observability, resiliency and performance design

Non-Technical Skills

• Clear articulation of complex technical concepts to leaders, stakeholder management and technical teams
