Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced SAP Integration Engineering Team Lead to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions across SAP Cloud Integration and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This is a hands‑on technical leadership role responsible for building secure, scalable, and high‑performing integration solutions while providing day‑to‑day guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to a team of integration engineers. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in SAP Cloud Integration, enterprise integration architecture, APIs, and SAP BTP services, along with a passion for developing people and driving engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and support of SAP Cloud Integration solutions.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and high‑performing integrations using SAP Cloud Integration and SAP BTP services.
• Develop and maintain integrations utilizing REST APIs, SOAP web services, JSON, XML, XSLT, XPath, and related technologies.
• Create and manage integrations with SAP BTP services including API Management, Event Mesh, and related cloud services.
• Review solution designs and code to ensure quality, maintainability, scalability, and adherence to enterprise standards.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and resolve complex integration issues.
• Ensure integration environments remain stable, secure, and highly available through proactive monitoring and operational support.
• Establish and promote integration architecture standards, development best practices, and SDLC processes.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and day‑to‑day guidance to the SAP Integration Engineering team.
• Conduct one‑on‑one meetings, support employee development, provide performance feedback, and assist with workload planning.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and functional teams to translate business requirements into technical integration solutions.
• Partner with internal teams and third‑party vendors to deliver enterprise integration initiatives.
• Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery documentation while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in after‑hours production support as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions.
• 3+ years of hands‑on SAP Cloud Integration (SAP Integration Suite/CPI) experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or leading engineering teams.
• Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
• Advanced knowledge of XML, XSD, XPath, XSLT, JSON, and enterprise integration technologies.
• Experience designing integrations within distributed and tiered application architectures.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, deployment, and SDLC best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and performing root cause analysis.
• Ability to balance hands‑on technical work with technical leadership responsibilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers, manage technical priorities, and build effective relationships across business and IT teams.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including API Management and Event Mesh.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA integration technologies, including IDocs, RFCs, and ABAP integrations.
• Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, solution architecture, and event‑driven architecture.
• Experience integrating SAP with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, AWS, Azure, or other cloud applications.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as JMS, ActiveMQ, or MSMQ.
• Experience with cXML, PIDX, or other B2B integration standards.
