TITLE: SAP Functional Consultant, Information Technology, FICA

PERFORMANCE COACH: Manager, Functional and Solution Architecture

POSITION CONCEPT

The SAP Functional Consultant is responsible for translating the business requirements of the Functional Area into the SAP system via the SAP Configuration IMG (SAP Implementation Guide). This includes all aspects of project work, ongoing functional enhancements, troubleshooting, and SAP provided system and/or legal changes. An SAP Senior Functional Analyst collaborates on all phases of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implements software solutions requiring in-depth configuration and integration; drives substantial interaction with vendor resources and integrates applications with complex interfaces.
2. Participates on an Application Development and Support team as well as project teams under the direction of their Lead SAP Configurator, Manager, or Project Managers.
3. Acts as a subject matter expert in multiple business unit areas relevant to projects and application support assignments.
4. Mentors and guides junior staff; develops and drives standard practices within their team.
5. Supports the request and analysis phases of SDLC by assisting with documentation and estimates.
6. Liaises with business partners to conduct analysis and design efforts for future enhancements and configuration.
7. Maintains awareness of current trends in the business marketplace with a focus on product and service development.
8. Participates in business process modeling sessions and supports the creation of business process procedures for assigned business unit(s).
9. Provides training and guidance and oversees work of staff/AMS contractors to ensure quality results.
10. Responsible for budget, forecast, and calculation of actuals for projects, maintaining financials.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent discipline.

Licenses/Certifications

Required: At least one SAP professional configuration certification in a specific discipline (e.g., CRM, DM, Billing/Invoicing, FICA, FI/CO, HCM, HR/PY, SC) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Direct Experience Required: Eight (8) years of SAP configuration experience performing systems analysis, design, and development; Ten (10) years of SAP configuration experience in FICA and Billing/Invoicing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

• Strong knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies.
• Implementation experience with SAP FICA functional and integration with billing and CRM.
• Demonstrates an overall understanding of FI-CA functionality.
• Ability to conduct workshops and work with a solution architect team to prepare solution design documents.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
