Job summary

NTT DATA North America is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architecture Specialist Advisor in Illinois to lead database and application architecture with a focus on SQL Server, SAP HANA, Oracle, and Azure-based operations. Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Enterprise Architecture Spec. Advisor to join our team in lakeforest, Illinois (US-IL), United States (US).

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced L3 Database & Application Architect with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in enterprise database architecture, administration, security, high availability, disaster recovery, and application infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, and Oracle, along with experience supporting enterprise supply-chain applications and Azure-based database operations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 10 years of database/application architecture and administration experience.
• Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience, including at least 7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA, and/or Oracle, along with experience supporting enterprise supply-chain applications and Azure-based database operations.
• Minimum 10 years of overall database administration and infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years of advanced SQL Server administration and high-availability technologies.
• Candidates should also have 3–5 years of experience supporting Azure-based database operations and enterprise supply-chain applications such as JDA/Blue Yonder.
• Strong experience operating in complex enterprise production environments.
• Demonstrated L3-level troubleshooting, architecture, security, automation, and operational support capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and validate database backup and disaster recovery (DR) solutions and procedures.
• Configure, generate, and review database auditing for:
  • SAP HANA
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle
• Develop and maintain SQL Server patching automation using WSUS.
• Review database-related CVEs and security vulnerabilities across HANA, SQL Server, and Oracle, and coordinate or perform remediation.
• Architect, administer, troubleshoot, and support SQL Server Always On availability groups/clustering.
• Support the infrastructure and database requirements of JDA / Blue Yonder (BY) Supply Chain applications.
• Manage SQL Server installation media access, volume/device access, and software/media repositories.
• Perform database administration activities through the Microsoft Azure Portal, including:
  • Access management
  • Backup and recovery
  • Database restoration
  • Monitoring
  • Auditing
  • Security and operational administration
• Administer and support CyberArk/ARS security and privileged-access requirements, including ongoing activities and Novolex big-bang implementation activities.
• Design, implement, review, and maintain SQL Server security, including ongoing security requirements and Novolex big-bang activities.
• Maintain Oracle Metalink/My Oracle Support access and Oracle software/media repositories.
• Provide L3-level root-cause analysis and resolution for complex database and application infrastructure incidents.
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture standards, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should combine architecture-level expertise with strong hands-on L3 engineering skills.

This role requires someone capable of designing solutions as well as troubleshooting and implementing them in production, particularly across SQL Server, HANA, Oracle, Azure, security, backup/DR, and Blue Yonder/JDA environments.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is 90$/hr - 96$/hr . This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
