Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an SAP Cost Accounting Analyst to ensure accuracy of product costing and inventory valuation in a manufacturing setting. The role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and support month-end close with insightful financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of cost/manufacturing accounting experience, strong SAP CO-PC/MM/PP skills, and advanced Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or financial analysis.
• US GAAP and IFRS knowledge.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP product costing (CO-PC), MM, PP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, overhead, and finished goods.
• Manage product costing activities, including standard cost calculations and cost updates.
• Support material setup and costing workflows with data governance and approvals.
• Perform month-end manufacturing accounting activities and variance calculations.
• Execute material ledger costing, revaluations, reconciliations, and issue resolutions.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, yield).
• Prepare cost performance reports and profitability analyses.
• Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate valuation.
• Support audits with cost accounting documentation and analysis.
• Assist with invoice coding and cost allocations for financial reporting.
• Provide cost data to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify cost savings opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory.
