Job summary

Baer is seeking an experienced SAP FI CO Functional Consultant for a 6-month remote project in the US, with occasional onsite visits. The consultant will lead FI/CO configuration and integration with MM/SD to support European client requirements.

Responsibilities include requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and knowledge transfer to client and offshore teams, ensuring accurate financial processes and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP FI/CO functional consulting with strong configuration in GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and controlling processes.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and ECC-to-S/4HANA migration.
• Strong cross-module integration experience with SAP MM and SD.
• Experience in implementations, rollouts, enhancements, or support projects.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills; able to work with global teams and Europe-based clients.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP FI CO Functional Consultant to support a client based in Europe. The consultant will lead SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) configuration, implementation, and process optimization activities, ensuring alignment with business requirements and financial processes. This is a primarily remote, project-based opportunity for approximately six months per year, with occasional onsite travel as required.

Description:

• Lead SAP FI CO configuration, implementation, and enhancement activities.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into SAP functional solutions.
• Configure and maintain General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting, and Controlling processes.
• Support cost center accounting, profit center accounting, internal orders, and product costing.
• Integrate FI/CO with SAP MM, SD, and other relevant modules.
• Perform functional testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Troubleshoot system issues, resolve defects, and support financial period-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver project milestones.
• Provide knowledge transfer and functional guidance to client and offshore teams.

Requirements:

• Hands-on SAP FI/CO functional consulting experience with strong configuration expertise in GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, cost center and profit center accounting, product costing, CO-PA, and internal orders.
• Proven experience in SAP implementations, rollouts, enhancements, or support projects, with a strong understanding of financial and management accounting, month-end/year-end closing, and financial data migration.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and ECC-to-S/4HANA migration.
• Strong cross-module integration experience with SAP MM and SD.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently with global teams and European-based clients.
• Experience with international projects and willingness to travel onsite occasionally, as required.
• SAP FI/CO or SAP S/4HANA Finance certification is preferred.
