Job summary

ERP Recruiting, LLC seeks an SAP Enterprise Basis Architect to lead the long-term technical direction of the SAP ecosystem. You will design and govern the SAP landscape, drive platform modernization, cloud adoption, and S/4HANA transformation while partnering with IT leadership and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities include owning architecture decisions, creating roadmaps, and leading complex integrations with focus on HA/DR, scalability, and security.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of AS ABAP, Java, BOBJ, kernel/SP patching, transport & change management (STMS, CTS+, CTMS), and UX architecture (SAP GUI, Fiori, Portal).
• Hands-on SAP BTP subaccounts, Integration Suite, Cloud Connector, IAS, and security integration with Entra ID.
• Strong foundation in SAP Security model, GRC Access Control (ARA, BRM, Firefighter), and SoD within regulated environments.
• Extensive experience with OS/DB management (Linux, Windows, HANA, MS-SQL, MAXDB), networking, capacity planning, and HA/DR strategies.
• Proven enterprise-wide troubleshooting across SAP, database, OS, network, and cloud layers.

We are seeking an SAP Enterprise Basis Architect to lead, define, and govern the long-term technical direction of our SAP ecosystem. In this role, you will think beyond system administration to design and evolve our overall SAP landscape, balancing strategic business objectives, enterprise standards, and technical innovation. You will play a key role in driving platform modernization, cloud adoption, S/4HANA transformation, and operational excellence while partnering closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Strategy

• Own architecture decisions, principles, and governance processes across enterprise SAP landscapes.
• Create current-state, future-state, and transition architectures alongside multi-year technology roadmaps.
• Design scalable hybrid architectures spanning on-premise and cloud platforms, encompassing application, infrastructure, data, integration, and security layers.
• Evaluate emerging SAP technologies, technical debt, and application rationalization opportunities to drive strategic adoption based on business outcomes.

Platform Modernization & Operational Excellence

• Drive modernization initiatives across ECC, S/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and hybrid environments.
• Design solutions focused on high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR), scalability, resiliency, performance tuning, and long-term supportability.
• Oversee complex integrations across SAP and non-SAP platforms, balancing cutting-edge innovation with operational stability.
• Guide BASIS, development, and infrastructure teams through complex technical challenges, security considerations, and networking requirements.

Leadership & Business Partnership

• Partner with senior IT leadership, business executives, delivery teams, and external partners to translate business strategy into technical solutions.
• Communicate complex architectural concepts effectively to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making across stakeholder groups.
• Mentor developers, systems analysts, and junior architects to build organizational talent and architecture capability.
• Lead technical incident recovery, enterprise-wide root cause analysis, and strategic vendor engagement/escalation.

Key Qualifications & Technical Skills

• SAP Core & UX: Deep knowledge of AS ABAP, Java, BOBJ, kernel/SP patching, transport & change management (STMS, CTS+, CTMS), and UX architecture (SAP GUI, Fiori, Portal).
• BTP & Cloud: Hands-on strategy with SAP BTP subaccounts, Integration Suite, Cloud Connector, Identity and Access Services (IAS), and security integration with Entra ID.
• Security & Compliance: Strong foundation in the SAP Security model, GRC Access Control (ARA, BRM, Firefighter), and Segregation of Duties (SoD) within regulated environments.
• Platform & Infrastructure: Extensive experience with OS/DB management (Linux, Windows, HANA, MS-SQL, MAXDB), networking (firewalls, segmentation, F5/BIG-IP), capacity planning, and HA/DR strategies.
• Diagnostics & Resolution: Proven track record in enterprise-wide troubleshooting across SAP, database, OS, network, and cloud layers to resolve critical performance bottlenecks.
