Dorman Products is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, develop, test and support ABAP-based solutions. You will work on reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and IDoc/ALE integrations within the SAP Logistics and OTC footprint.

The role emphasizes OOABAP design, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Hyderabad-based preference; strong debugging and documentation skills are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5-8 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience across implementations, enhancements, rollouts, upgrades, or production support.
• Strong Object-Oriented ABAP experience, including classes, interfaces, events, inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling, and reusable design.
• Strong experience with ABAP Dictionary objects, reports, ALV/SALV, modularization techniques, function modules, and reusable development objects.
• Experience with enhancement technologies (enhancement spots, BAdIs, user exits, customer exits, implicit/explicit enhancements, BTEs).
• Experience developing or supporting SAPscript, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and related distribution.
• Strong experience with inbound/outbound IDoc/ALE development and support, including integration/setup and production issue resolution.
• Knowledge of SAP Logistics Execution, Shipping, Warehouse Management, Transportation, and OTC processes.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in release planning, transports, go-live, and production incident resolution; mentor junior developers.

Primary Duties

• Design, develop, test, document, and support SAP reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, dialog applications, and custom components.
• Build modular and reusable Object-Oriented ABAP solutions using classes, interfaces, events, inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling, and appropriate design principles.
• Develop and support inbound and outbound IDoc/ALE interfaces, including message and data structures, standard and custom extensions, partner and communication configuration, processing logic, distribution, sequencing, status management, monitoring, error handling, and reprocessing.
• Analyze functional requirements, identify technical options, prepare technical specifications and estimates, and deliver assigned solutions with limited supervision.
• Support SAP Logistics Execution and Order-to-Cash processes, including sales orders, deliveries, shipping, warehouse activities, goods issue, transportation, billing, outputs, and related integrations.
• Perform peer code reviews and address findings related to correctness, performance, security, maintainability, testability, and development standards.
• Use ABAP quality, debugging, SQL-analysis, and runtime-analysis tools to validate functionality and performance before transport release.
• Troubleshoot issues across ABAP programs, interfaces, workflows, background jobs, forms, application logs, middleware, master data, configuration, and authorizations.
• Prepare unit-test evidence, transport details, deployment documentation, and operational support instructions.
• Support integration, regression, and user acceptance testing; analyze defects and provide timely, sustainable corrections.
• Participate in release planning, transports, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production incident resolution under the guidance of the SAP Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior developers, share reusable approaches, and contribute to coding standards, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Advanced ABAP Objects and reusable application development.
• ABAP Dictionary, reports, ALV/SALV, enhancements, forms, dialog programming, and background processing.
• IDoc/ALE integration: inbound and outbound processing, message and data-structure design, standard and custom extensions, partner and communication configuration, process logic, distribution, sequencing, status management, monitoring, error handling, and reprocessing.
• Integration technologies: RFC, BAPI, OData, REST, SOAP, web services, APIs, file-based exchange, and middleware-supported interfaces.
• SAP Business Workflow: development, event and agent handling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Dialog and warehouse mobility development: Module Pool applications, screen-flow processing, RF transactions, scanning workflows, and device-aware design.
• Open SQL, performance tuning, debugging, code-quality checks, and ABAP Unit.
• SAP LE, Shipping, WM/EWM, Transportation, and OTC process awareness.
• SAP ABAP, S/4HANA, integration, or logistics-related certification is preferred but not required.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• 5-8 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience across implementation, enhancement, rollout, upgrade, or production-support engagements.
• Strong Object-Oriented ABAP experience, including classes, interfaces, events, inheritance, polymorphism, exception classes, object references, and reusable design.
• Strong experience with ABAP Dictionary objects, classical and interactive reports, ALV/SALV, modularization techniques, function modules, and reusable development objects.
• Hands-on experience with enhancement technologies, including enhancement spots, BAdIs, user exits, customer exits, implicit and explicit enhancements, and BTEs where applicable.
• Experience with BAPIs, RFC-enabled function modules, OData or web services, file interfaces, application logs, background jobs, and email or PDF distribution.
• Strong experience with inbound and outbound IDoc/ALE development and support, including custom extensions, partner and communication setup, processing logic, monitoring, error recovery, and production issue resolution.
• Experience developing or supporting SAPscript, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, print programs, output processing, and form troubleshooting.
• Experience with Module Pool programming, including screen-flow logic, PBO/PAI, table controls, tab strips, custom controls, validations, locking, authorizations, and transaction handling.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business Workflow, including templates, tasks, events, agent determination, containers, deadlines, work-item monitoring, debugging, and restart procedures.
• Experience with Open SQL, joins, expressions, internal tables, field symbols, data references, memory-efficient processing, package processing, and high-volume data handling.
• Hands-on debugging and performance-tuning experience using the ABAP debugger, SQL analysis, runtime analysis, code-quality checks, application logs, and relevant system traces.
• Ability to prepare technical designs, estimates, unit-test plans, test evidence, transport documentation, and production-support instructions.
• Working functional knowledge of SAP Logistics Execution, Shipping, Warehouse Management, Transportation, and Order-to-Cash processes.
• Understanding of SAP transport management, change control, Agile delivery, software development lifecycle, release management, incident handling, and production-support practices.
• Hands-on RF development experience supporting warehouse mobile transactions, barcode scanning, RF screens, logical transactions, menus, function codes, device behavior, and troubleshooting is preferred.
• Experience with SAP Business Workflow enhancements, complex agent determination, escalations, notifications, and production support is preferred.
• Experience with SAP-to-SAP and SAP-to-non-SAP integrations using APIs, REST, SOAP, proxies, middleware, event-based interfaces, or managed file transfer is preferred.
• Exposure to EWM, LE-TRA, SAP Transportation Management, output management, Fiori/UI5, or warehouse and transportation-system integrations is preferred.
• Automotive, automotive aftermarket, discrete manufacturing, distribution, or a similar high-volume logistics industry background is an advantage.
• Preferably, candidates should be based in Hyderabad.
