Job summary

Red Global is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer for a freelance engagement. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining ABAP solutions in SAP S/4HANA, including CDS views and AMDP, with cloud extensions via SAP BTP and integration services.

You will work with SAP Fiori, APIs, and BAPIs in a distributed team, delivering high‑quality code while ensuring security and scalability. Remote work from Poland is supported for the 6–12 month project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Proven ABAP Objects, reports, enhancements, interfaces and debugging skills.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA development and CDS/AMDP.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain SAP ABAP solutions in S/4HANA.
• Deliver developments and enhancements in SAP environments.
• Develop and optimise CDS Views, AMDP and OData services.
• Work with SAP BTP for cloud-based extensions and integrations.
• Create and maintain SAP interfaces using APIs, IDocs, RFCs and BAPIs.
• Implement enhancements with BAdIs and user exits; ensure best practices.
• Support Fiori applications and backend services; assist testing and deployments.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer to join a project on a freelance basis for an initial 6–12 months.

Responsibilities include

• Design, develop and maintain custom SAP solutions using ABAP and ABAP Objects (OO ABAP).
• Deliver technical developments and enhancements within SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Develop and optimise CDS Views, AMDP and OData services.
• Work with SAP BTP to develop and extend SAP applications and support cloud-based integrations.
• Develop and maintain SAP interfaces using APIs, IDocs, RFCs and BAPIs.
• Implement enhancements using BAdIs, user exits and enhancement frameworks.
• Support SAP Fiori applications and backend services.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, performance optimisation and root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with functional consultants, architects and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
• Support technical design, testing, deployments and transport management.
• Ensure development quality, scalability, security and adherence to SAP best practices.

Required skills and experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Strong experience with ABAP Objects, reports, enhancements, interfaces and SAP debugging.
• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA development.
• Practical experience with CDS Views, AMDP and modern ABAP development techniques.
• Experience with SAP BTP, including application development, extensions or integration scenarios.
• Knowledge of SAP BTP services and integration technologies, such as SAP Integration Suite and APIs.
• Experience developing and consuming OData services.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 is an advantage.
• Experience with performance tuning, code optimisation and technical troubleshooting.
• Ability to independently analyse requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a distributed project team.
• Must be available to work remotely from Poland on a freelance basis.
