Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP and BTP Architect for the AWS SAP Team to design and implement SAP solutions across cloud platforms and core SAP systems. You will develop ABAP programs, modern Fiori UIs, and BTP-based services while ensuring clean-core architecture and scalable integrations.

You will collaborate with functional teams to deliver end-to-end SAP capabilities, including generative AI-driven enhancements, side-by-side extensions, and robust testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software development, cloud computing, or related fields.
• 5+ years in ABAP programming and SAP development.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
• Proficient in SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 development, with modern UI experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements to build SAP BTP and ABAP solutions.
• Develop ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, APIs, and backend services.
• Create modern UIs using SAP Fiori and SAPUI5.
• Collaborate with functional teams on technical designs.
• Develop, enhance, and support Fiori apps and SAPUI5 interfaces.
• Integrate ABAP, Fiori, BTP services, SAP modules and external systems.
• Leverage BTP services including BAS, HANA Cloud, RAP, CAP, Integration Suite, and AI services.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.

We are seeking an experienced SAP developer with a strong background in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, RAP, CAP, AI-related BTP services, and ABAP to join our SAP implementation project team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing custom solutions, enhancements, extensions, and user interfaces using ABAP programming, SAP Fiori, and SAP Business Technology Platform services to meet the specific business requirements of our organization. This role requires strong hands‑on capability in both modern SAP cloud development and core SAP backend development, with greater emphasis on BTP-based application development, side‑by‑side extensibility, clean core principles, and intelligent application scenarios.

Key job responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, specifications, and designs to build SAP BTP and ABAP solutions.
• Develop ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, APIs, and backend services.
• Create and maintain modern user interfaces using SAP Fiori and SAPUI5.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business analysts on technical solution design.
• Develop, enhance, and support custom Fiori applications and responsive SAPUI5 interfaces.
• Integrate ABAP, Fiori, BTP services, SAP modules, and external systems as needed.
• Utilize SAP BTP services including BAS, HANA Cloud, RAP, CAP, Integration Suite, Workflow, Event Mesh, AI Core, AI Launchpad, and Generative AI Hub to build clean-core, intelligent solutions.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Provide technical guidance on ABAP, BTP, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and AI-enabled development.
• Document custom code, interfaces, APIs, and technical solutions for support and maintenance.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ABAP programming and SAP development.
• Experience developing custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, and enhancements.
• Proficient in SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 development, with experience in creating modern and responsive user interfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience managing relationships with SAP customers and partners
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud ERP and Cloud ERP Private
• Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative / Agentic AI, and data & analytics

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
