Qualifications

Overview

Business Applications Consultant – SAP ABAP
100% Remote

Client is seeking a Sr. Business Applications Consultant with expert-level skills in SAP ABAP development, particularly with ABAP Objects, and hands-on experience in SAP Enhancement Package (EHP) upgrade projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing custom code during the upgrade, ensuring smooth integration, and supporting the full upgrade lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Strong ABAP programming skills including ABAP Objects and custom development.

• Lead efforts in analyzing and adjusting custom code to ensure compatibility with new EHP versions.

• Manage SPAU/SPDD resolution, identify impacted objects, and implement remediation strategies.

• Analyze SAP Notes and OSS Notes to support issue resolution and upgrade processes.

• Execute comprehensive impact analysis on custom objects and interfaces.

• Support all upgrade phases: planning, preparation, execution, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and post-Go-Live.

• Collaborate with Functional Consultants, Solution Architects, and BASIS team members.

• Provide post-upgrade support and documentation for technical specifications.

• Develop and test programming objects for various SAP modules.

• Ensure seamless integration across SAP modules and external systems.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP programming including ABAP Objects.

• Deep understanding of the SAP ABAP upgrade process and EHP methodology.

• Proven experience with SPAU/SPDD adjustments and resolving upgrade conflicts.

• Ability to analyze and apply SAP Notes and OSS Notes effectively.

• In-depth knowledge of integration technologies (SAP PI/PO, EDI, API, Web Services, SAP Cloud).

• Strong debugging, data modeling, and technical documentation skills.

• Familiarity with multiple SAP modules and cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience with S/4HANA and SAP certifications are a plus.
