Peterson-Farms, Inc. in Miami, FL is seeking a full-time Sanitor to clean and sanitize machinery, utensils, and equipment used in food processing. You will perform daily cleaning using CIP/COP methods, operate valves, and prepare sanitizers according to GMP and Food Safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, can read written instructions, lift up to 25 pounds, and work weekends. Forklift experience is a plus; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of food processing equipment.
• Turn valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnect pipes.
• Spray machines, tanks and conveyors with water to loosen dirt.
• Scrub machines, tanks, tables, conveyors and rinse before sanitizer.
• Scrub floors and walls as part of Master cleaning program.
• Connect hoses and lines to pumps to circulate cleaning solution.
• Scrub interior of pipes, valves, spigots, gauges and meters.
• Handle and prepare chemical cleaning solutions.
• Collect samples of cleaning solutions for titration analysis.
• Report any defective machinery to supervisor.
• Other tasks assigned by the Plant.

Cleans and sanitizes machinery, utensils and equipment used to process or store food or beverages.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of food processing equipment utilizing methods such as (Clean in Place – Clean out of Place) and foaming techniques.
• Turn valves to drain machines or tanks and disconnect pipes.
• Spray machines, tanks and conveyors with water to loosen and remove dirt or other foreign matter.
• Scrub machines, tanks, tables, pans, flumes, tunnels and conveyors and then rinse with water prior to applying sanitizer.
• Scrub floors and walls as part of the Master cleaning program.
• Connect hoses and lines to pumps to circulate cleaning and sanitizing solution through hoses and lines.
• Scrub interior of disconnected pipes, valves, spigots, gauges and meters.
• handling and preparation of chemical cleaning solutions.
• Collect samples of cleaning solutions for titration analysis.

• Report any defective machinery found to immediate supervisor.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent preferred

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions.
• Ability to follow and comply with quality standards.
• Ability to comprehend and comply with GMP rules and Food Safety guidelines.
• May be required to obtain and maintain valid hi-lo license.
• Ability to work as contributing member within the team.
• Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 25 pounds.

Other Requirements

• Forklift operation is a plus.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Flexible scheduling and the ability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Environmental Working Conditions

• Hazards include but are not limited to cuts from broken glass, slips, trips, falls, cuts, burns and strains.
