Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Sanitation Worker (Janitor) in North Little Rock, AR to join a safety-conscious team in a warehouse setting. Schedule is Monday to Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am, with a base rate of $18.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential.

Responsibilities include cleaning, trash handling, sanitation logs, and operating cleaning equipment. The ideal candidate will have sanitation or warehouse experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to follow directions

Qualifications

• Previous sanitation and/or warehouse experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage time in a fast-paced warehouse.
• Willingness to work overtime and in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces.
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable.
• Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis.
• Clean up spills or breakages per food safety standards and determine disposal.
• Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms and restrooms.
• Complete daily sanitation logs.
• Operate cleaning equipment including scrubber, bailer/trash compactor, and pallet jacks.
• Identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues; escalate to supervisor as needed.
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.

Major Responsibilities:

• Proficient in mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, and vacuuming surfaces
• Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable
• Pulls pallets and clean/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis
• Clean up any spills or breakages to the inventoried product; recoup damages and determine if resalable or must be disposed of per food safety standards and requirements
• Clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, including break rooms, restrooms, offices, etc.
• Complete daily sanitation logs
• Utilize chemicals, detergents, and cleaning equipment
• Operate scrubber, bailer/trash compactor and pallet jacks to perform duties
• Able to identify and address cleanliness and sanitation issues
• Complies with all safety requirementsEscalate issues timely and directly to supervisor
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous sanitation and/or warehouse experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Proficient reading skills and ability to follow directions required
• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexible, excellent with numbers and time management skills required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions required
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
• Complete a Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
