Job summary

The City of Winchester is seeking a sanitation worker to collect refuse from homes and businesses, loading cans into a refuse truck and operating packer equipment.

You will also keep areas around cans clean, direct traffic near work zones, and clean the truck and equipment, contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend English and follow oral instructions.
• Ability to perform heavy manual work and lift up to 75 pounds.

Physical Requirements:

Continuous heavy manual work at a rapid pace. Requires moderate physical effort working regularly with light weight materials and occasionally with heavy weight materials (over 75 pounds) including but not limited to walking, talking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, hoisted, pushing, and pulling.
