Job summary

Northline Seafoods seeks a temporary Sanitation Worker for the Head & Gut processing area. You will perform daily cleaning, follow procedures, safely service equipment, monitor chemical use, and maintain sanitation records to support a safe, compliant production environment. Shifts are Day 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

($22.00/hour), Night 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. ($23.00/hour), Overnight 10:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m. ($23.00/hour).

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Experience in food processing or industrial sanitation preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, conveyors, floors, drains, and work surfaces in the Head & Gut facility.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures, including rinsing, foaming, scrubbing, and sanitizing using approved chemicals and equipment.
  • Safely disassemble and reassemble machinery for thorough cleaning without damage.
  • Monitor chemical concentrations and usage; maintain sanitation records.
  • Dispose of waste and by-products per environmental and food safety regulations.
  • Inspect cleaned areas to verify sanitation and readiness for production.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or sanitation issues to supervisors.
  • Follow OSHA, FDA, USDA and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production and QA teams to meet sanitation requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Sanitation Worker plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance within Northline Seafoods' Head & Gut processing operations. This position ensures all equipment, processing areas, and workstations meet company standards and regulatory requirements, supporting a safe and efficient production environment.

This temporary position is anticipated to run from early November through mid-March, with the potential to extend through May based on operational needs.

We are hiring for the following sanitation shifts:

  • Day Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. | $22.00/hour
  • Night Shift: 4:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. | $23.00/hour
  • Overnight Shift: 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. | $23.00/hour
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of processing equipment, conveyor lines, floors, drains, and work surfaces in the Head & Gut facility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Previous experience in food processing or industrial sanitation.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to remain on the production floor and perform the essential duties of the position while standing and walking for up to 10-hour shifts, with scheduled meal and rest breaks.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Frequently required to climb or maintain balance while performing job duties.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by talking and hearing.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color differentiation, and the ability to identify product abnormalities or defects.
  • Ability to work in a cold, wet, and fast-paced refrigerated production environment around wet floors, processing equipment, and seafood products.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, boots, eye protection, rain gear, and other PPE as assigned.
  • Schedule may include nights, weekends, and overtime during peak production periods.
