Job summary

Publix Super Markets is hiring for a plant department role to support operations across shifts. Responsibilities include covering for vacations, performing preventative maintenance, and learning multiple positions to ensure smooth production.

You will operate safely under GMPs, handle lifts, chemicals, and forklift operations, and contribute to a fast-paced team. This on-site role requires reliability, strong teamwork, and commitment to Publix standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must demonstrate good GMP practices and safe working habits.
• Must be able to work at heights above 25 feet on ladders/high-lifts.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently and work with chemicals.
• Must obtain forklift license/operate forklift.
• Must learn and perform all positions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have good human relations skills and be a team player.
• Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Must follow detailed written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Performing the functions of each position throughout the department when associates are on vacation or absent.
• Performing duties during unplanned absences and helping relieve breaks and lunches.
• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Keeping updated on changes to procedures for all department positions.
• Carrying out day-to-day tasks of the Department Manager/Utility Trainer during vacations and absences.
• Serving as a positive role model and developing knowledge of plant operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
