Job description

Overview

The Sanitation Technologist I will facilitate and execute the cleaning of equipment and facilities, prepare and batch industrial cleaning chemicals, and operate Sanitation Technologist programs and correctly manage cleaning records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, food safety, and environmental laws. The candidate will work directly with the Sanitation Supervisor to manage plant safety, sanitation, and continuous improvement programs to ensure that the facility is maintained at SQF level 3 standards for cleanliness. This position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all sanitation, equipment and facility cleaning programs and documentation are completed according to policy and guidelines.
• Ensure the housekeeping and cleanliness of the production facility.
• Use and maintain various types of cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, buckets, scrub pads and foaming equipment.
• Monitor and report on the inventory of CIP and other sanitation cleaning chemicals, and other cleaning tools. Inform CIP tech, Supervisor, or Manager when additional supplies are needed.
• Efficiently complete tasks and duties as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS).
• Perform minor PMs on sanitation equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment including pump sprayers, foaming units, sinks, etc. are properly labeled.
• Complete MSS records to support internal and 3rd party audits and help ensure compliance.
• Report all food safety/sanitation issues to the Sanitation and QA Supervisors.
• Collaborate with Sanitation teammates and other departments to ensure daily compliance in sanitation and ensure guidelines are followed throughout the plant.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
