Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking Sanitation Technicians to join our team on a Thursday–Sunday night shift, 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM. You will help maintain a clean, safe facility and comply with USDA/FDA standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties include following the Master Sanitation Schedule, operating cleaning equipment, safely disassembling/reassembling equipment, handling spills, and supporting 5S continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean production machinery.
• Capable of safely operating cleaning equipment and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule to clean and sanitize all plant areas.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment such as power washers and steamers.
• Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation.
• Use floor jacks, trash compactors, and vacuum cleaners safely.
• Respond to spills or contamination risks promptly to keep the facility clean.
• Wear PPE and follow lifting techniques and safety standards.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S practices.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule to clean and sanitize all areas of the plant, ensuring food safety and quality in every step of production.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment, including power washers, steamers, foam applicators, and more, to maintain a spotless facility and equipment.
• Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation, preventing contamination and ensuring thorough cleaning.
• Operate equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactors, and vacuum cleaners safely and efficiently.
• Respond quickly and effectively to any spills or contamination risks, keeping the facility in top condition.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow proper lifting techniques, and adhere to all safety standards to ensure personal and team safety.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), ensuring the highest level of operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility is a plus but not required.
• Ability to comfortably wear and work with various forms of PPE.
• A strong team player who can also work independently to meet production goals.
