Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Technician for both day and night shifts in a food manufacturing facility. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing production areas to prevent contamination, adhering to GMP and food safety standards.

Night shift offers a premium and includes forklift/scissor lift training as needed. Responsibilities span from equipment cleaning to maintaining sanitation logs, with duties occasionally extending to office spaces and grounds cleanup.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning is a plus.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to high temperatures, fumes, moving parts, loud noise, allergens, heights and hot surfaces.
• Knowledge of counting and basic math
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with essential duties
• Ability to read and comprehend written material
• Ability to listen to and understand information presented orally

Responsibilities

• Sanitation Team member manages production and non-production areas to prevent contamination per the MSS, following GMP and Food Safety.
• Operates cleaning across ceilings to floor and may train to operate forklift and scissor lift.
• Cleans all manufacturing equipment with chemicals and power washers; maintains sanitation records and logs.
• Cleans office areas, hallways, locker rooms, break rooms, trash, and vacuums carpets; cleans outside grounds as needed.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Sanitation Technician - Food Manufacturing

hourly rate $20.00

Day shift - 4am to 2pm

Night Shift - 8pm to 6am

( additional $3.00/hr shift premium for night shift only)

Responsibilities

The Sanitation Team member is responsible for production and non-production areas of the plant, as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), working to prevent product contamination and adulteration, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety.

This individual will work on all aspect of cleaning from the ceilings to the floor and will be trained to operator a forklift and a scissor lift. Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all manufacturing equipment and will use chemicals and power washers to ensure cleanliness, maintain necessary records and sanitation cleaning logs. May also be required to clean office areas, hallways, locker rooms and break rooms, to include cleanup of trash and vacuum carpets. Clean up outside grounds as needed. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning with the use of industrial power-washing equipment and chemical cleaning a plus, and/or janitorial services cleaning.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes exposure to: High temperatures, fumes or airborne particles; Moving mechanical parts and vibration; Loud noise levels; Allergens; Elevated heights and Hot surfaces.

• Knowledge of counting and basic math

• Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilities

• Ability to read and comprehend written material

• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
