Job summary

Shearer’s Foods is seeking a Manufacturing Facility Custodian for afternoon and night shifts. The role involves thorough cleaning and sanitation of our food-safe environment, offices, restrooms, and shipping areas, using industrial cleaning chemicals. The position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor and requires standing up to 12 hours per shift.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning or janitorial services.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Facility Custodian

Afternoon and Night shift available

Hourly Rate $18.00

The Custodian is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and the daily sanitation of our food-safe environment, front offices, production offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, shipping and receiving areas and other related areas as assigned. Our team members will be using industrial housekeeping chemicals to ensure the cleanliness of all our offices along with the rest of the facility. Our Housekeeping Team members are expected to always keep the work area clean at a level consistent with the high standards of food manufacturing. This position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor.

Basic math and counting skills, prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred. This role requires you to be on your feet for up to 12 hours on the scheduled shift.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in industrial cleaning or janitorial services cleaning.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes exposure to: High temperatures, fumes or airborne particles; Moving mechanical parts and vibration; Loud noise levels; Allergens; Elevated heights and Hot surfaces.
• Knowledge of counting and basic math
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilities
• Ability to read and comprehend written material
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
