Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a sanitation team member for an hourly role in our Virginia plants. You will clean and sanitize production areas and equipment to meet strict USDA, safety, and company standards. Expect to follow detailed procedures, use PPE, and work with a team to ensure timely, safe sanitation operations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience in poultry, food industry, or manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and apply common sense.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas according to USDA, food safety, and company sanitation standards.
• Prepare, mix, and safely apply cleaning chemicals while following all PPE and safety requirements.
• Inspect equipment and areas after sanitation to ensure proper cleanliness and report any issues or hazards promptly.
• Maintain an organized, safe work environment by removing debris, rinsing surfaces, and ensuring proper storage of tools and chemicals.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete sanitation tasks efficiently and support a positive, safety‑focused environment.
• Follow detailed sanitation procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all safety, food safety, and biosecurity guidelines.
• Perform additional sanitation duties as needed to support production readiness and meet operational goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
