Purpose

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the general cleaning of the warehouse, offices, restrooms, break rooms, and exterior grounds of the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

  • Gather debris and trash such as cardboard, tape, shrink wrap, paper, and damaged product resulting from distribution functions, taking items to designated areas for re-coupe or disposal.
  • Track dumped product for proper inventory adjustments and report numbers to the inventory department.
  • Sweep, mop, and dust warehouse areas including but not limited to break rooms, restrooms, offices, and exterior grounds.
  • Maintain pest control stations as required by SAL policy.
  • Fill out required paperwork for job completion tracking.
  • Safely operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, floor scrubbers, and reach trucks.
  • Adhere to company policies, standards, and best practices.

About You

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of Powered Industrial Truck Operators Training (PITOT) certification required. (Training provided by the company).
  • Attention to detail and have strong communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to count accurately, match and write numbers, and have a positive work history including safety and attendance.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team spirit, self-motivated, and initiative to support the needs of a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work required shift schedules and varying days of the week including holidays and/or weekends.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push, and lift up to 85 pounds in a fast-paced environment for extended periods of time.
  • Regularly works in freezers, coolers, and refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist, and use sawing motions for extended periods of time.
