Job summary

Shamrock Foods Company in Arizona is hiring a Sanitation Technician to clean and sanitize production and warehouse equipment to guarantee a clean environment for safe food production and packaging. You will follow GMPs, use PPE, and perform equipment checks and sanitation logs throughout shifts.

The role requires standing most of the day, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and alternating Wednesdays from 4am to 4pm.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1+ years of industrial cleaning experience.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Fluency in English; read and write policies.
  • Able to read, write and understand safety standards.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible to evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to reach up to 31-77 inches.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize filling equipment, tanks, lines, and other processing equipment using cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
  • Clean and sanitize walls, ceilings and floors with cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
  • Follow GMPs and PPE requirements; report deficiencies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform start-up, safety, quality, production and equipment checks and document results.
  • Perform sanitary equipment maintenance per PM schedule or as directed.
  • Restock and replenish supplies; maintain sanitation logs.
  • Follow sanitation and quality policies, including lock out tag out.
  • Maintain PPE usage and ensure regular attendance.

Job description

Hours: 4am to 4pm | Workdays:The employee will work every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, andevery other Wednesday.This means they will work on Wednesday one week, then have the next Wednesday off, and continue this pattern.

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the production and warehouse equipment to establish a clean environment for producing and packaging quality products. Ensures equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and in compliance with government sanitation requirements.

Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

  • Clean and sanitize filling equipment, tanks, lines, and other processing equipment using cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
  • Clean and sanitize walls, ceilings and floors while utilizing cleaning chemicals and sanitizers as directed or required.
  • Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, including lock out tag out, and report any deficiencies
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform start-up, safety, quality, production and equipment checks and document results throughout the work day
  • Perform sanitary equipment maintenance as per the preventative maintenance schedule or when directed by the supervisor
  • Restock and replenish supplies as appropriate. Maintain sanitation logs.
  • Follows all applicable GMP's for the area in which he/she is assigned.
  • Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • 1+ years of previous industrial cleaning experience. Prior experience working in manufacturing environment a plus
  • Perform work standing 90% of the time with frequent bending and lifting
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Fluency in English; ability to communicate when necessary to complete duties, read and write
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and understand policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards.
  • Capable of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches.
