Job description

The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to, pest control; blow downs; working in elevated spaces of up to 80 feet in height, confined spaces and inspecting finished goods and ingredients, and other duties as assigned by management. Cleaning and sanitizing equipment of all types and in different types of locations.

• Additional $1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 6pm-6am
• Must be flexible for overtime and weekend work.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Inspection of packaged finished goods and ingredients. Detailed cleaning of Plant equipment. Ability to work in elevated spaces up to 80 feet in height. Ability to work in dusty, confined spaces.

Minimum Job Requirements :

Education / Certifications :

Must be able to read and write in English and fill out relevant work documents.

Experience :

• Sanitation experience in a food plant is preferred but not required.
• Strong history of demonstrated safety practices required.

Knowledge / Skills :

• Must possess knowledge of safety, including lockout / tag-out procedures, confined space entry, and fire extinguisher use.
• Must be able to ride a man-lift and be able to use stairs in a mill / elevator.
• Must be certifiable to use the forklift, scissor lift, and boom lift.
• Must be knowledgeable and observant of food processing GMPs, quality, and sanitation practices.
• Must be dedicated to the team concept.
• Must be willing to improve skills through continuous education.

Abilities :

Must be available to work any shift as needed or, rotating shifts, including weekends, overtime, vacations, and holidays.

Requirements :

The associate must be able to meet all the required training and certifications. Candidates will be selected based on their past and current work performance, attendance / safety record, teamwork skills, and abilities. We will also review any corrective action notifications within the personnel file.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort :

Work involves daily exposure to elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and / or noise. The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards, confined spaces, and elevated spaces up to 80 feet in height. Position requires standing, sitting, walking, talking, seeing, hearing, fine dexterity, and handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds. As defined by C.H. Guenther and Son, personal protective equipmentwill be provided.
