Job summary

Fresh Express Salads in Grand Prairie, Texas is seeking a Sanitation Technician to maintain sanitary conditions in a fast-paced, cold environment (34-36°F). The role cleans conveyors, dryer barrels, drains, and walls, using foamier and pressure washers, and follows cleaning schedules and safety rules.

You will work with hazardous materials carefully, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks with independence per written sanitation procedures. English reading/writing is required.

Qualifications

• Must be physically capable of lifting and pushing; able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to make decisions and think independently.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic mechanical skills required to dismantle equipment and operate cleaning tools.
• Identify and properly use hazardous chemicals as trained.

Responsibilities

• Clean conveyors, dryer barrels, water shaker, and other equipment to sanitation standards.
• Operate foamier and pressure washer; perform pre- and post-rinse steps.
• Follow written sanitation procedures and maintain orderly chemical cage and supplies.
• Maintain drains and sanitation schedule; minimize standing water.

Job description

The Sanitation Technician will work in a fast-paced, wet, cold environment of 34-36 degrees Fahrenheit. The Sanitation Technician is responsible for assuring that the plant is appropriately cleaned to satisfy regulatory and company requirements (overall sanitation of the plant), including but not limiting to conveyor belts, dryer barrels, water shaker, and other metal equipment. The Sanitation Technician operates foamier and pressure washer, sweeps floors, shoveling garbage into garbage cans, and removing garbage. The Sanitation Technician also hand-scrubs equipment and walls as required. He/she cleans drains and traps, sanitizes drains according to cleaning schedule and assures that standing water is minimized. The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining sanitary equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly manner in chemical cage. Use chemical and hazardous materials with caution and always follow instructions before and during use.

The following tasks will be performed and followed:

• Air blow excess product
• Pre-rinse equipment
• Foam equipment
• Post rinse
• Sanitize
• With these tasks performed sequentially, employee follows all written sanitation procedures and develops a proactive approach to solving problems related to cleaning and sanitizing.

Minimum skills requirement:

• Must be physically capable as it requires lifting, pushing. He/she

• Identify and properly use (when required) hazardous chemical and material in house as trained. Basic mechanical skills are required to dismantle production equipment and operate cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
• Must have the ability to make decisions and think independently.

Minimum experience and testing requirement:

• Experience working in a cold environment is a plus. No test is required.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate English.
