Job summary

McCain Foods USA, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Technician in Wisconsin Rapids. You will maintain a clean, safe, and food-safe manufacturing environment, using industrial cleaning equipment and established sanitation procedures.

The role requires physical stamina, adherence to safety, and flexibility to support shutdown sanitation activities, including night shifts. Starting pay is 27.00 USD per hour with bonus eligibility and shift differentials.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work during factory shutdowns and night shifts as needed.

About The Role.

As a Sanitation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe manufacturing environment. Working under the direction of Sanitation leadership, you will utilize industrial cleaning equipment, Ecolab cleaning agents, and established sanitation procedures to ensure facility and equipment cleanliness while supporting McCain's Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) standards. This hands-on role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and flexibility to support factory shutdown sanitation activities.

What You’ll Be Doing.
  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of facility infrastructure, including ceilings, pipes, walls, tanks, processing equipment, and production areas.
  • Operate power washers and other industrial cleaning tools and equipment to maintain sanitation standards throughout the facility.
  • Work safely and effectively in a variety of conditions, including hot, humid, cold, and confined environments.
  • Participate in quality and continuous improvement initiatives by understanding and applying sanitation and quality process techniques.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and food safety requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support factory shutdown cleaning activities, including night shift work during shutdown periods as required.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, aerial lifts, and work platforms to access and clean elevated equipment and structures.
  • Handle and use industrial cleaning chemicals responsibly and in accordance with chemical safety procedures.
  • Accurately complete sanitation documentation, records, and required reporting.
  • Perform additional duties and sanitation-related responsibilities as assigned to support operational needs.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to safely push, pull, and lift 40 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work extended periods using power washing and industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Comfort working at heights, including ladders, aerial lifts, cages, and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to work safely with industrial cleaning chemicals and follow established handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating good judgment, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work during factory shutdowns, including night shifts as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and aerial lift certifications.
  • Successful completion of required sanitation, chemical safety, and cleaning effectiveness training programs.

Compensation Package:

- Starting at 27.00 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
