Job summary

Refresco Beverages US Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Technician for our warehouse and production areas. The role focuses on maintaining food quality and safety by cleaning production equipment, conveyors, floors, and facilities, following GMPs and PPE requirements.

You will perform sanitation tasks, verify cleanliness, and maintain sanitation documentation, with shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM and a pay range of $16–$19 per hour plus shift differential. Non-exempt status.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of sanitation/janitorial experience in a warehouse with mobile cleaning equipment.
  • Experience operating mobile cleaning equipment and industrial balers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow GMPs and wear PPE in warehouse and production areas.
  • Ensure food quality and safety per standards (FDA, SQF, etc.).
  • Prepare equipment for cleaning and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Sanitize, foam, scrub, and rinse equipment to meet standards.
  • Clean and sanitize conveyors, floors, drains, and facilities.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness with inspection and testing.
  • Maintain sanitation documentation and daily Master Sanitation Schedule.

Job description

Sanitation Technician

Pay Range: $16 - $19 per hour (plus shift differential)

Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Status: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including hairnets, beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard‑toe shoes, slip‑oil‑resistant shoes, safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
  • Responsible for food quality and safety as per company, customer, and governing body standards (FDA, SQF, etc.).
  • Prepare production equipment for cleaning and follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures when doing so.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and follow chemical usage and safety guidelines indicated by labels.
  • Sanitize, foam, scrub, and rinse production equipment to meet Food Safety and Food Quality standards, including CIP, foam, scrub, and rinse for containers, rinsers, warmers, and pasteurizers.
  • Clean and sanitize all conveyors, conveying equipment, drip pans, rails, floors, drains, ceilings, walls in production and warehouse areas, reverse osmosis area, facility building, grounds, parking lots, and bathrooms.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop using manual or electric tools; empty trash cans and replace liners; general cleaning of office area.
  • Verify and validate sanitation effectiveness with visual inspection and chemical concentration testing.
  • Confirm proper sanitation by monitoring printouts of CIP systems or manual documentation.
  • Store all chemicals and safety equipment properly.
  • Ensure minimum downtime during sanitation and pre‑operational inspections.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation documentation and ensure proper completion of Master Sanitation Schedule daily.
Required Skills
  • Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical technical data sheets.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with safety protocols to prevent accidents and contamination.
  • Operate industrial cleaning machines (e.g., pressure washers, floor scrubbers).
  • Identify potential sanitation issues before they become problems.
Competencies
  • Safety and Compliance: Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, SQF, FDA regulations).
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Time Management: Efficient in completing cleaning tasks within scheduled times.
  • Problem Solving: Creative thinking to develop and implement effective cleaning strategies.
  • Teamwork: Cooperative attitude and willingness to assist co‑workers.
Education and Experience
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience as a sanitation/janitorial worker in a warehouse environment, using mobile cleaning equipment. Preferred experience operating mobile cleaning equipment and industrial balers.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Environment: Fast‑paced production plant with moving parts, noise levels requiring hearing protection, temperatures that can be very hot or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
Travel Requirements
  • 0% travel anticipated.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand or sit frequently.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs (minimum 5 lbs).
  • Carry weight, lift, walk, drive, climb stairs or ladders, and balance as needed.
  • Visual/Sensory: Requires attention to detail, focusing on one or two senses at a time.
  • Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment.
