Job summary

Lyons Magnus in Westlake, OH is seeking a Sanitation Technician to support all sanitation functions on the master schedule, clean equipment using CIP procedures, and collaborate with operations, maintenance and management to ensure compliance and efficiency.

This in-house temporary role operates on 2nd or 3rd shift with overtime and weekend requirements. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days, and a permanent conversion is possible based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience preferred in related fields.
• Preference for prior sanitation/cleaning experience in manufacturing/warehouse.
• Attention to detail to ensure areas are clean and compliant.
• Effective communication with team and reporting sanitation issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs equipment cleaning per CIP Sanitation SOPs.
• Performs plant cleaning as outlined by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintains general housekeeping in all plant areas.
• Disassembles and reassembles filters, screens, and processing equipment.
• Handles and uses chemicals including acids, chlorines, caustics and quats.
• Tests and records chemical concentrations.
• Visually inspects equipment.
• Performs allergen analysis where required.
• Performs clean equipment swabbing.
• Follows safety procedures and uses PPE.
• May perform other duties; overtime/weekends may be required.

A member of the Sanitation department, a food service division at Lyons Magnus, the Sanitation Technician will be responsible for supporting all sanitation functions. This position will involve executing tasks on the master sanitation schedule and cleaning equipment while using CIP procedures. This position requires good communication and collaboration with operations, maintenance and internal management.

Pay Range: $21.00 per hour + Shift differential

Hours:

• 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am
• 3rd shift: 9:30pm - 6:30am

Schedule:

• 2nd: Monday - Saturday
• 3rd: Sunday - Friday

(Must be willing to work OT and Weekends)

Work Environment: Production environment within a manufacturing facility

Additional Information: This is an in-house temporary position aligned with a temp-to-hire process. While a permanent role may become available, conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and attendance. Benefits eligibility begins after 90 days.

• Performs equipment cleaning per-CIP Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
• Performs plant cleaning as outlined by the Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of plant.
• Disassembles and reassembles filters, screens and other processing equipment.
• Handling and use of chemicals including acids, chlorines, caustics and quats.
• Testing and recording of chemical concentrations.
• Visual inspection of equipment.
• Performs absence of allergen analysis.
• Performs clean equipment swabbing.
• Comply with appropriate safety procedures.
• Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• May perform other duties as required.
• Overtime and weekends may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Self-Motivated.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and industry standard cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of HACCP and allergens.
• Establish positive working relationships with Lyons’ management and senior support personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience preferred within related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sanitation or cleaning role, preferably in manufacturing warehouse.
• Strong attention to detail is important for identifying areas needing cleaning and ensuring areas are in compliance.
• Effective communication skills are necessary for collaborating with team and reporting sanitation issues.
