Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Sanitation Technician for our Kings Mountain, NC facility. You will help maintain food safety and cleanliness across production areas, operating power washers, steamers, and other cleaning equipment to keep machinery and surfaces spotless.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team, while following safety protocols and PPE guidelines in a USDA-regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding food safety and sanitation standards.
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach to clean areas on production machines.
• Capability to safely operate cleaning equipment and follow all safety procedures.
• Experience in a USDA-regulated facility is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule to clean and sanitize all areas of the plant, ensuring food safety and quality in every step of production.
• Operate powered cleaning equipment, including power washers, steamers, foam applicators, and more, to maintain a spotless facility and equipment.
• Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment for sanitation, preventing contamination and ensuring thorough cleaning.
• Operate equipment such as floor jacks, trash compactors, and vacuum cleaners safely and efficiently.
• Respond quickly and effectively to spills or contamination risks, keeping the facility in top condition.
• Wear PPE, follow proper lifting techniques, and adhere to safety standards to ensure personal and team safety.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S for efficiency.
