Position Scope

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of bakery production areas, grounds, and offices to ensure food safety standards are met. Adherence to IFS, Food Safety Policies, GMPs, and safety policies is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean work and bakery areas, including surfaces and floors.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing equipment and production lines.
• Remove waste from various areas.
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, gloves, and hairnets.
• Perform post-maintenance cleanings.
• Ensure thorough cleaning during product changeovers.
• Identify and address slip hazards.
• Coordinate with leads for supplies and equipment movement.
• Conduct weekly chemical and supply inventory counts.
• Log waste disposal activities.
• Maintain cleanliness of exterior building perimeters.
• Monitor condensation in proofing areas and clean racks, pipes, and fixtures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods.
• Wear appropriate PPE at all times in the bakery.
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs intermittently.
• Work effectively as part of a diverse team.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Work at various heights.
• Maintain accuracy and precision.
• Meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Previous sanitation experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for safety procedures.
