Job summary

Big Idea Holdings, LLC is hiring a Sanitation Tech 1 in Gonzales, CA to maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment in our food manufacturing facility. This non-management, full-time role reports to the FSQA Manager and requires adherence to GMPs and sanitation schedules.

The ideal candidate has relevant work experience and a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to work long days, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel to other facilities if needed.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant work experience in sanitation or food manufacturing.
• Able to read and follow Master Sanitation Schedule and logs.
• Ability to operate sanitation equipment (foamers, scrubbers) and handle chemicals safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize cold room surfaces, equipment, utensils and other work areas according to Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Complete sanitation activities and document cleaning schedules and chemical usage.
• Maintain sanitation equipment and logs; adhere to GMPs and Safety policies.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION

• Clean and sanitize cold room surfaces, equipment, utensils and other work areas in accordance with Master Sanitation Schedule. This includes walls, ceilings, fans, and other fixtures to prevent microbial growth and cross contamination.
• Complete sanitation activities following Master Sanitation Schedule
• Complete sanitation logs and forms to document cleaning schedules and chemical usage.
• Handle sanitation chemicals following company specific safety guidelines
• Complete and document sanitation titration activities
• Maintain all sanitation related equipment
• Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, and facility specific sanitation and Safety Procedures. company GMPs and Safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned such as cleaning of the building by emptying trash, sweeping, etc.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate sanitation equipment such as foamers, floor scrubbers, and portable air compressor.
• Ability to operate yard sweeper, leaf blower and scrubber
• Basic mathematical skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and sit.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (often up to 50 pounds)
• Ability to spend time in a refrigerated (cold) and loud (ear protection required) work environment.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to travel to other facilities and offices.
• Ability to work long days including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

• Relevant work experience Required
• High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
