Job description

Overview

The Golden Sanitation employee thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all surfaces, equipment, floors, ceiling, and walls within the production rooms. They ensure compliance with food safety sanitation regulations and SQF standards.

Responsibilities

• Sanitize walls, tables, bins, trays, tubs, and transport carts used for raw materials and finished goods.
• Disassemble and sanitize production machinery.
• Remove all debris from tables and equipment by utilizing power wash equipment (water and air hose).
• Apply food‑grade antimicrobial chemicals to all equipment and accessories used for production.
• Use a plumber's snake or drain auger to remove clogs from pipes.
• Operate power washers and hot water pressure washers to clean surfaces.
• Adhere to safety norms and regulations.
• Remove and dispose of all garbage according to recycling guidelines.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points guidelines (HACCP).
• This job may involve cleaning bathrooms and other office spaces.

Requirements

• Use a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including helmets, clear face protectors, chemical‑grade gloves, water‑resistant gear, and hearing protectors.
• Have direct and indirect contact with chlorine and a variety of food‑grade chemicals.
• Use a ladder to clean water chillers and machines.

Physical Abilities

• Regularly lift or move weights of 50 lbs. or more.
• Stand or walk for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.
• Bend, stoop, squat, reach, and kneel.
• Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Work in wet and cold environments.
• Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a food processing plant or restaurant kitchen sanitation process is preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Food Safety is preferred.

Work Environment

• Position is onsite at Golden Meat Warehouse.
• Cold environment with temperatures averaging between 36 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Fast‑paced meat packing facility.
• May be exposed to loud machinery and equipment.
