Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Barrels Operator in Reno to support site sanitation initiatives and safety compliance. You will lead Sanitation Associates, deliver detailed sanitation reports, develop SOPs, and train Associates to maintain high hygiene standards across the plant.

Responsibilities include cleaning large areas and equipment, interpreting production schedules, and communicating effectively with managers and teammates about critical information to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• Able to work varying shifts and schedules.
• Able to understand and communicate in the English language.
• Working knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Material Management Systems and procedures.
• Able to read and understand the daily production run schedule and execute that plan.
• Able to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety, or other business-critical information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining high levels of daily cleanliness and adherence to site GMPs.
• Prioritize daily work by identifying pressing issues and communicating with operators.
• Promote a high-quality team environment through teamwork and self-management.
• Performs all assigned activities and job tasks within their area.
• Understand production schedules as they relate to shutdowns.
• Detailed cleaning of large areas and workspaces.
• Detailed cleaning of large pieces of manufacturing equipment.
• Understanding microbiological and pest control pertains to a food manufacturing environment.
• Coordinate with teams on sanitation, pest control, and housekeeping projects.
• Work in enclosed spaces when required.
• Collaborate with teams in a large plant setting.
