Pilgrim’s is seeking a Sanitation Leader to oversee sanitation programs across our poultry processing plant. You will direct sanitation supervisors and hourly staff to maintain safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance every day.
The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and proactive issue resolution. You will collaborate with supervisors, manage inventories and budgets, and uphold USDA/OSHA standards to support high-quality production.

In this leadership role, you will oversee the full execution of sanitation programs across the Pilgrim’s poultry processing plant, providing direction and support to the sanitation supervisors who manage daily shift‑level activities. You will ensure the facility consistently meets all sanitation, food safety, and regulatory requirements while partnering with sanitation managers to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Working closely with supervisors during sanitation shifts, you will guide the coordination of cleaning processes, verify proper use of sanitation equipment and chemicals, and ensure strict adherence to USDA, OSHA, and company sanitation standards. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to address issues proactively—maintaining a safe, sanitary environment that supports reliable, high‑quality production every day.
Lead and oversee sanitation supervisors and hourly sanitation employees to ensure all sanitation activities are completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Train, coach, and develop sanitation staff; plan, assign, and direct daily work while evaluating performance and administering discipline in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Maintain accurate personnel records and ensure consistent communication, guidance, and support across all sanitation shifts.
Ensure full compliance with Pilgrim’s sanitation procedures, USDA regulations, OSHA requirements, and all relevant food safety standards.
Serve as the primary communication link between the plant and USDA regarding sanitation matters, and maintain strong working relationships with chemical suppliers.
Monitor inventory, usage, and proper handling of sanitation chemicals and supplies to support efficient operations.
Assist with managing the sanitation department budget, identifying opportunities for cost control and continuous improvement.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Operations Team.
