Job summary

V2X Inc. at Fort Irwin, California is seeking a Sanitation Specialist to maintain clean offices, restrooms and common areas. You will operate custodial equipment and keep records while ensuring safety and compliance with safety rules and hazardous material programs. A high school diploma or equivalent is expected alongside relevant experience.

The role requires US citizenship and a Secret security clearance, with flexibility for day, night, or weekend shifts, and competitive benefit offerings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Empty, clean and reline trash, and transport waste to collection points.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, seal and wax floors; vacuum carpets and rugs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies.
• Dust furniture and windowsills; clean interior glass and doors.
• Operate custodial equipment safely and properly.
• Maintain custodial closets and carts; keep inventory of supplies.
• Maintain records of work performed and supplies purchased.
• Perform duties as assigned and work day, night or weekend shifts.
• Maintain required records and forms and perform daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, which include offices, hallways, restrooms, break rooms and common areas.
• Empty, clean and reline trash and recycle bins and transport waste to designated collection points.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, seal and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets and rugs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including fixtures, partitions, mirrors and floors; restock supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap and other products.
• Dust and wipe furniture, ledges, vents, windowsills and other surfaces; clean interior glass and doors.
• Operate custodial equipment (e.g., floor machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums) in a safe and proper manner.
• Maintain custodial closets and carts in a clean, organized and secure condition.
• Maintain records and inventory of cleaning supplies and prepare lists of supplies to be purchased.
• Maintain appropriate records of all work accomplished.
• Perfom other related duties as assigned consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
• Must be able to work a day shift, night shift or weekend duty.
• Maintains and/or completes required records and applicable forms
• Performs daily duties normally associated with this specialty.

Qualifications

Safety Requirements

• Comply with Hazardous Waste Program. Comply with Company and facility Hazardous Material Programs
• Maintain cleanliness of the work center and around your assigned work area
• Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment
• Will be familiar with and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as directed/required
• Must comply with established General and Industrial Safety Rules and Regulations as applicable to the contract, facilities, and job assignment
• Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Debris awareness/prevention and safety at all times

Qualifications

• Must be able to use and have a good practical knowledge of industrial maintenance equipment and supplies
• Must have successfully completed approved course or training as required by Company, State/Local Govt, DOD, regulation/Instruction
• Must possess a secret clearance
• Must have completed High School or equivalent
• Must be a US citizen
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to communicate professionally, courteously, and respectfully

Degree & Experience

• Associate degree and 1+ years of relevant experience, or
• No degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Clearance

• Active U.S Government Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Physical Demands

• This classification’s activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to an environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
• May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 50 pounds
• Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus

Work Environment

• The diversity of work conditions may range from an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort to traveling to multiple buildings on post and may be exposed to inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc
