Job summary

Horizon Recuperative Care - San Gabriel Valley in El Monte, CA is seeking a Sanitation Specialist/Janitor to maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas, ensuring health and safety standards are met.

You will perform sweeping, mopping, sanitizing bathrooms, waste disposal, and event setup as needed, while reporting maintenance issues and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous janitorial/custodian experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in resident rooms, common areas, hallways, and other facility spaces.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and replenish supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, and other surfaces.
• Monitor and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed.
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up for events and activities as needed.
