Job summary

JBS Foods in Marshalltown is seeking a Sanitation Safety Supervisor to lead safety and health efforts on the 3rd shift. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Safety Manager and requires guiding a team, enforcing policies, and coordinating training to ensure compliance and efficiency.

You will collaborate with production supervisors, monitor facilities for hazards, and participate in safety meetings to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Strong supervisory and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Salaried Grade: Type of Position: Hours: 3 rd Shift Hours Vary

Exempt Full-time Flexible as needed

General Description:

Supervise, evaluate and direct Safety & Health personnel on TBD shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures. Stimulate maximum safety, efficiency and ensure proper training of staff. Apply company employee relations and union contract policies in all dealing with employees. Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are Safe. Work closely with other production supervisors and management to promote safety, efficiency and teamwork in each department and in plant facility. Attend meetings as scheduled or called. Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned.

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill.


• Supervisory skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.


• Good verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to speak multiple languages beneficial.
