Job summary

JBS USA seeks a Maintenance Supervisor – COLD in Marshalltown to oversee maintenance across the Pork division on the 3rd shift, prioritizing work orders and coordinating mechanics. You will monitor all production areas, perform skilled tasks (construction, welding, brazing, plumbing, hydraulics), adjust and repair electrical gear, and participate in the plant’s HAZMAT team.

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with strong English communication, safety awareness, and prior maintenance

Qualifications

• 40+ hours per week across all plant areas.
• English verbal and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices in building, mechanical and electrical trades.
• Previous mechanical and related experience required.
• Hazard awareness and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics based on immediacy and necessity.
• Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
• Perform skilled maintenance: construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing and hydraulics.
• Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
• Participate in the plant HAZMAT team for emergencies.
• Promote and ensure safety in maintenance activities.
• Arrange required paperwork (e.g., payroll) and attend meetings as scheduled.

General Description

Prioritize work orders and schedule mechanics according to immediacy and necessity of orders. Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery. Perform skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, plumbing and hydraulics. Adjust, repair and replace electrical and electronic equipment. Participate in HAZMAT team to ensure preparedness for emergency situations. Promote and encourage safety in all aspects of maintenance. Arrange for completion of required paperwork, such as payroll. Attend meetings as scheduled or called.

Required Skills

• Work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant.
• Be able to communicate verbally and in written form in English
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in the building, mechanical and electrical trades.
