Job summary

JBS USA is hiring a Sanitation Safety Supervisor in Plainwell, MI to oversee sanitation operations and enforce safety protocols in a fast-paced meat processing environment.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to train staff on cleaning techniques, PPE use, and chemical safety. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain food safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; certifications in sanitation/safety desirable.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation principles, cleaning techniques, and chemical safety in meat packing.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify hazards in a fast-paced plant.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce sanitation and safety policies and procedures for meat packing; ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of facility, lines and equipment; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee sanitation activities and ensure hygienic environments per food safety guidelines.
• Train employees on sanitation practices, PPE, and handling of dangerous chemicals.
• Ensure lockout/tagout compliance and regular safety checks to prevent accidents.
• Audit sanitation protocols and coach staff on adherence and improvement.
• Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize recurrence.
• Collaborate with production, QA and maintenance to ensure plant-wide safety practices.
• Maintain records of sanitation activities, inspections and training.
• Stay updated with regulations and best practices in sanitation and food handling.
