Job Summary

The Sanitation Driver/Pump Truck Driver/Operator operates the pump truck on pre-determined routes, controlling the truck's pump or similar equipment to collect waste from portable sanitation units and deposit their contents into the truck.

Job Classification

Full-time & Part-time; non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Pay Range

$20 to $22

Responsibilities

• Operate pump truck on a pre-determined route; safely control the pump to collect receptacles and deposit contents into the truck.
• Perform and document pre-operation safety checks on the vehicle.
• Refuel and perform basic maintenance on the truck.
• Coordinate with mechanics for proper maintenance and repairs.
• Transport waste for processing and disposal.
• Notify supervisors of delays, unsafe sites, accidents, breakdowns, or issues, and document incidents.
• Maintain logs of pickups, mileage, and dump activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required to operate a pump truck.
• At least 3 years of commercial driving experience, 5 years preferred.
• Must be at least 25 years old due to insurance requirements.
• Availability for overtime and weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work and drive in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must reside within the Spring Hill/Brooksville area.
• Only non-CDL drivers will be considered.
